Hi all, just wondering if there is any publicly available documentation where we may be able to tell what a particular cabinet is. - TSM/J in this case.

I'm troubleshooting some DSL issues for a client, and I'm just wondering if we might be on a Conklin still...

Are they rural and syning on ADSL1 and peak time is just really really really slow?

Pretty rural - sync is around 4Mbps but they are a fair way away - probably around 2km from that cabinet, or 4km from the actual exchange. I wonder if that cabinet isn't actually in use for this line as the 4Mbps would be about right for 4km from the exchange I think? If they were connected to that cabinet, and it was a conklin, over the roughly 2km, would I have expected to see the old dreaded '7616kbps' sync speed?

When I was there during the day throughput speeds were as expected for the sync speed. Didn't really feel like a conklin but it is the type of area where there wouldn't be a lot of usage during the day.

It seems to be more stability issues, we have just replaced their rather old modem too and will see if they note any improvement from that.

What we're seeing with sync speeds would support that theory too.

There was a period when these small white metal cabinets were used for Cross connects with Quante (spel?) micro IDC 10port connector strips

This one dosent look like it has power (240v)

i recall an old green styled one that had both a Conklin dslam and cross connects in it in my area awhile back.

Ended up with getting my connection crossconnected to the exchange and was much happier ;)

There is no active equipment in there, it just just a cross connect.

You can DM the address I can see what services and active cabinet you are on and what speeds people around you are getting.

Thanks heaps for the offer - in light of that info, I'm pretty happy 4Mbps is as good as it will get in that location.
