I've not had much to do with fiber installs etc, so might be simple answer, but what is an ITP port for ? This is at my folks who just had it installed today :)

Optical is lit up on the ONT so the fibre appears connected.

Maybe Internal Test Point for copper?

Happy to be corrected but my understanding is that it is the Internal Termination Point.

Basically allows you to plug the POTS line from the ONT to the ITP and then you'll have phone service on all the phone jacks in the house. The ITP is connected to the internal phone wiring of the house.

The ITP is supposed to be installed for every job where there is internal phone wiring that can be connected to the ONT's or router's VoIP phone output (assuming the contractor has read the Chorus manual), so the copper landline is cut and replaced by a phone lead from the VoIP output to the house phones. Would have been nice of them to put the jack right way up though!

Time to find a new industry!
