I have my Vigor 130 configured in bridge mode and perform PPPoE from a Linux machine.

When running Firmware version v130_3793_modem_STD on the Vigor 130 everything works as expected.

I tried updating the firmware to v130_3812_modem_STD with no changes in the modem configuration and no changes in Linux configuration and unfortunately it stops working

From the log on the Linux machine I see a whole heap errors before pppd eventually gives up. Unfortunately nothing in the firmware Release Notes points at what changes I might need to make in the configurations to get it working.

The new firmware supports VLAN10 tagging for native EUBA connections rather than PPPoE to PPPoA translation. I haven't actually played with it but since it's not going to offer you any benefits why not just use the old firmware that works for you?

Tried a factory reset of the new firmware? I did a similar upgrade a few months ago, attempting to preserve settings, and everything broke horribly. After a full reset, everything was perfect.

I had avoided doing a reset because earlier versions of the firmware had an interface bug which made setting up the PPPoE bridging a nightmare. Fortunately that was fixed in the new firmware and it took all of a minute to set up again.
