Hi!

A friend has moved into a house which already has fibre installed - so the ONT etc is all there. Previous people were, I think, with Spark.

She's signed up via Vodafone, but is still waiting on it to be setup (which might be Voda more than anything)

Being there is no install needed, how long should it take to get it all turned on? Needless to say they are hanging out to get internets (its been a few weeks)

Thanks

Nic

4 business hours if she's on Chorus.

A few days on other LFCs.

Yup, Waiheke, so it's Chorus.

I'll get her to call them. Someone at a call centre is going to have a bad day.

You mean talk to their provider, not Chorus - the provider is the one who chases it up.

Key words "She's signed up via Vodafone".

For starters I'm not going to say any more but there could be something else at play such as the Spark line still being active so they're having to send through an abandonment request.

Have you tried plugging a router into the ONT and seeing if you get any internet from it? For Spark - Use PPPoE and VLAN 10, Username - user@xtrabb.co.nz And just type in any password you like. As Spark use port based auth.
