At the moment, Chorus is offering standard residential fibre installations for FREE when you place an order for fibre with your broadband provider.

Currently I'm with Vodafone Cable and happy so far with the price/plan, but I wondering when Chorus cancels their offer and we have to pay for it.

So my question is it possible to have a fibre installations for free in advanced? Who knows what the future will be. ;)

I would request a fibre install ASAP before they are not free!

That is the problem. Vodafone won't install it until they provide the cable service and I can't(don't want to) move from Vodafone because the price is too good :)

not quite a direct answer, but when we ordered fibre chorus connected all the houses sharing the driveway (makes sense) including one of an elderly couple who, to date, still isn't connected (no internet connection at all). they basically got what you inquired about, although it was still tied to someone else's fibre order.

on the other hand, i can understand why vodafone is happy to keep you on hfc, but not quite why you are. you can probably stay with them if you're getting a discount off your mobile plan, for example... but move to fibre if it is available.

do they provide a static IP address? if yes, $90 total compare to my $75 current. I heard that a fibre installation cost around $200.

If you have fibre available, why oh why would you want to remain on faux fibre, very odd.

Fibre install costs far more than that per house! Who told you $200?

Already did try it and response was "why"? "we are providing a good service for you", "the price will be high then the current one" ...
