Hi,

I live in the Dinsdale, Hamilton area, I using Xnet, and yes this is about finding the better ISP since Xnet seems really slow in the afternoons.

I have seen so much post mentioning how the internet speed can change at random times with Xnet and other ISP and theres nothing I can do, but I really cant take the speed I'm getting these few weeks in the afternoon.

In the mornings, let say 9am-12pm my download speed can reach up to 500kb/s, after 12pm the speed is so depressing like its gone straight down to hell...a 5-90kb/s.....come on seriously...my friend is with Extra/Telecom unlimited plan($50/mnth) but the plan is now unavilable for us, he gets the speeds 300-500kb/s throughout the entire day.....

I'm on the Xnet $33.95 river plan, unlimited/custom data usage (still gotta pay per meg), I use up around $10gb/month.

I'm asking nicely if anyone that lives in the Hamilton area that has a fast and reliable ISP with a minimun of $45/month fee, a ISP that has a steady connection speed like my mates will help.

I appreciate anyones suggestion,

Jim

I read the post from "nate" that i relized he made before i posted this and tried his solutions and fround this ISP called "Net Jet broadband"

$31/month max download max upload, $16.95 for 10gb thats total of $47.95, is this ISP any good? since i hardly ever herd of it.

I'm in Hamilton and have the same issues you speak about. It really has frustrated me gaming on International Servers...in fact it's almost impossible. So whoever you choose do not go to ORCON ! I'm leaving them tomorrow due to Dial up type speeds, severe Latency and there don't care service. some ISP's have no idea what there customers require and just ignore us. So XNET & ORCON both suck in Hamilton then? Who else does that leave? TelstraClear, Telecom, Snap, Vodafone ihug, Slingshot ?????

Never heard of them.  But for $2 extra you can get Explorer from Telecom that's pretty much the same deal - and they're doing a promo at the moment where it's half price for some period of time ...

I live in Nawton and just a few weeks ago I have been connected (I assume) to an adsl2+ cabinet. I am on Xtra Explorer and I am getting connect speeds of 12Mbps. The telecom website say I should be connected to adsl2+ cabinet in April but looks like they are ahead of schedule.
