Hi i was wondering if anyone knew of a gigabite ADSL modem that is a 4-port switch but doesn't have wireless? i have found a few with wireless but need one without
So buy a wireless one, login to the web interface and untick the 'enable wireless' checkbox? Unscrew the antenna (if possible) to boot, if that makes you feel any better

That was my interpretation, 4 port wired router/modem with gigabit ethernet + DSL. You can always buy a cheap 4 port gigabit switch and plug a DSL modem into that (I assume you don't want to this for some reason).

Probably doesnt want 2 or 3 devices? Personally I wouldnt mind downsizing to one device myself but I have an openwrt router currently that I like and I dont see openwrt + wireless pre n + adsl2 + gigabit lan going to happen anytime soon.
i was trying to minimize devices but i need to have wireless in a seprate room as the reception is poor in room with interenet line. Would the devices communicate with each other at Gbit speeds through a switch? even if the router is giving them IP adresses?

Yes.. once the router has given out ip addresses and maybe responds to the odd arp request its job is done as far as transferring data between two computers connected to the switch after this the computers communicate directly.
My recommendation would be like the above buy a wireless device with gigabit and remove aerial, disable wireless in software or for the more extreme open it up and pop the wireless card (usually only connected with mini pci, or mini PCIe cards)
