I have an existing conduit (around 80 metres) but in hindsight I didn't run it in the best location.

Should I push for Chorus to trench a new run or just use what I have?

Alternatively if I get a private trenching job how much should I pay per metre?

Thanks.

A ditch witch will cost about $400 for half a day's hire. Easy enough to dig it yourself, throw some conduit in, and put the dirt back on again. Buy a roll of nylon strapping tape from Blackwood's and feed it through the conduit as you lay it, makes the techs job heaps easier if they have something to use as a drag line.

Is the existing run going to be unusable or just one or both ends in wrong place?

Its usable and was originally installed with UFB in mind. I don't like where it runs though.
