Telecom has done it again.

Some weeks ago I received a letter stating that my Big Time plan was about to be terminated and that if I would not inform them different my plan would change from somewhere in October onwards. (I guess this sounds familiar to most Big Time users)

Only Telecom has changed my plan as from today without any notification. Who has the same experience and where can we complain about this?

I guess this is bad business and proof that within Telecom people are busy who are not aware of what they are doing.

I do not know whether I will get an answer but I am about to send an email to the CEO as enough is enough and I want some quality of service for what I pay.

same it dropped connection for 2 days and about 8 times in one day in the same hour
then without warning the plan was downgraded. no email warning and already have only 2gb left

letter did say be change in august though.

however they did say if dont hear from by 13th aug they stick with explorer 20gb plan. I assumed they would switch it over at end of billing.. but instead they changed it 4 days prior it resets on 21st the normal bill cycle for when we joined big time plan.

so need 60-80gb plan for $60 and 50cent per 1gb not $2 its just too pricy now

I thought most Big Time users were moved off in this current month with the last changing last week?

Are you sure your letter said October?

So much hate, so little reading of fineprint.

Not a dig, I also didn't see I had to ring them by last friday to get a $20 discount for 3 months on pro. So for now I'm on the adventure giving it a go.

And in actual fact, you posted yourself in one of those threads that you were aware from August 1 that it was going to be no more. They can't keep you on a plan through till October that is non existint from August 1.

If we all stay quiet and do not rock the boat too much we might be in luck.

Nah, I am just kidding. Telecom will 'surprise' us all the coming weeks and then it is over as from August 1.

I did spot that.

And obviously created a monster. Cause the threads I pointed out all have new hate posts in them now.

Same thing happened to me. But as the letter stated it, I knew it was going to happen. Just didnt expect it this early as the letter did say "starting from 13 August and we will move you by 8 October".

The way I found out is I had an email saying I had used 80% of my cap only 3 days into the plan, would have been nice to at least get an email notifying me of the change so I could start managing my traffic.

I guess GoLarge/BigTime has just been another ongoing PR nightmare during tough times for Telecom so they are probably just glad to see the back of it as soon as possible.

Anyway I have now moved to Slingshots "We will take the money from all the vampires" plan, taking my phone services with me.

The same thing happened to me, got changed over on Friday morning with no notification.

Noticed my usenet downloads were coming down at 1.6Mbits's  (usually 250KB's), then all of a sadden all downloading/surfing slowed to 5KB's.

I rang telecom they said all they can do is upgrade me to the pro plan. so im using my free xt 3g modem at the mo, waiting for a new nznet nakedDSL line to be installed.

Telecom should have emailed users when they changed them over.

People are again forgetting one small detail..

They have done their contractual obligation, saying, during that period.. something will change.
They are providing just a connection-to-the-internet Service, what you do with that service, and how quickly you use up your requested alotment.. is not their responsibility.

They supply the option to give email limit alerts at 80% for a convenience, but ultimately its up to the user to keep an eye on their usage,

To be honest, If you actively monitor limits, it can be a good thing when they change you if like me your monthly cycle is start-end of month. I was part way through my month, BOOM, I had 20G available to use up again, and 10 days in which to do it. Heelooo catchup downloading without worrying about daily limit.

I've pointed it out in a number of threads now, And its not hard to install/keep an eye on your usage.

It's been around since the days of xtra over-charging 128K connections!

be responsible and liable for any use by any other person (authorised or unauthorised) of the Services we provide to you or under your Account or Sub Account, including any charges associated with that use and any consequences if such person misuses the Services, breaches these Customer Terms or any Separate Terms.

Ultimately, yes, it might have been nice to know when. But it comes back to being the user of the service to keep an eye on how much of it they have.
