Hi,
We have a home business and household of 4 heavy internet users, looking for a new plan.
Currently on :
Telecom Pro Broadband 40GB/month $81
Telecom Home Business anytime landline $46
Also have call minder, waiting etc but could do without on future plan.
Total per month is around $136
Now, we were on Go large and then Big Time, we've been with xtra on Jetstream since around 2001!
Very happy with the pro speed of around 8-10 Megabits, but 40gb is just a joke for substantial internet use in our home. We averaged 60-90 on Big time and our typical use includes a ton of youtube and TVNZ/TV3 on demand, Cloud based syncing and backup with services like dropbox, emailing large attachments, itunes rentals etc.
Also pissed off that Telecom have offered 'double your data' to new customers, after we've been with them since 2001 and have had cellphones with them since the 80's. Never received a free modem or anything.
Criteria for new plan:
speed: would prefer ADSL2+ (we have it in our area) but could settle for anything above 3.5 Megabits
Price: No more than $40 more than we pay now
Data: 60-100GB, other options like Snap's off peak are appealing though
Calls: Most of landline use is local (Auckland) calls and calls to cellphones. Maybe 50/50
Reliable speed and service. Big Time was good for us, a consistent 3-5 Megabits, not looking for a plan where it's 7Mb in the morning and 1Mb during peak etc.
Based in Titirangi, Auckland.
Current options I've looked at are:
upgrade to Telecom Business advanced broadband $97 / month with lower overage charges.
Snap Pro 60GB / month $89/99 depending on inclusion of Snap phone
Any help would be much appreciated
