It will be great if your ISP could allow you to manage how much data you download/upload on a daily basis to ensure you have high speed access for the whole month, IE do't use up your datacap in a few days. . I am on a 5gig plan with Telecom and wish if Telecom for instance allowd me to specify how much I could use on a daily basis at my 3.5m speed. If I exceed my daily allowance I go back to dial up for the rest of that day.

Actrix have broadband plans with daily download limits. If you exceed the limit download and upload speed will be reduced to 64k.

You could get a program that does that for you maybe and that will stop you from using so much bandwidth after so much data has been downloaded

You could set up a box to do that, but without a bit of discipline - otherwise you'll just over run it. I just check my usage meter on a regular basis and also sometimes run a bandwidth monitor which estimates how much data I've pushed out.

I know my former flatmate used to do that - but with manually capping his downloads, used to uncap it for "just a little bit more"... until we went over.
