I am planning a move from Norway to New Zealand, and am in the process of researching broadband, wireless internet (mobile and Wi-fi) and good web hosting providers.
To start with the on topic (for the forum) question:
It seems, from the discussions I have been reading, that Snap is considered to be one of the better ISPs for broadband, but I have seen mentioned that Telecom might be better for people working overseas. I need a stable connection with the least possible (in as much as thats possible, with the two countries being so far apart) lag to Norway. Mostly FTP and SSH, but also RDP (Remote desktop). I will also be using Skype a lot, but that seems like a normal service in New Zealand.
So the question: Which broadband provider should I choose?
Will be moving to Wellington or the Kapiti coast (most likely around Paraparaumu). Will that make my hunt for a good ISP harder?
I am spoiled on access to uncapped broadband here, but for every day work its more important to have a broadband provider that has high uptime, quick response to problems and a good customer service department.
