What has been typical for the first DLM change to kick in?

I'm a Telecom VDSL customer and had an install on Saturday. I'm guessing I've started in DLM6? Stats below...

kinda lacking the info needed to tell you that :/ hunt around and see if the INP etc comes up anywhere..

I'll take another look but haven't seen INP anywhere. Do ping times give an indication of DLM status? Also, the event log on the Technicolor modem shows only one sync event -- when my connection was activated on Saturday morning.

Latency looks like DLM2,4 or 6. I would suspect 2 for starting profile.

avoid unnecessary resyncs, DLM can be rather iffy about them.. my connection took a week or so before DLM appeared to be working (regardless of how many resyncs i did) it seems to be luck of the draw how soon it plays itself out though..

testing over wireless? a loaded link? try a tracert .. something looks iffy about that ping..

Well, no DLM recyncs overnight so still on DLM-1.

Errors have stabilised, but are still 5x higher than they were a few months ago!

Will try a 5min power off reset at lunch time.

everyone seems to have had an increase in errors minor may it be.. with your snr tweaking its proberly showing itself more.. maybe something changed.. just seems odd that multiple people suddenly increased error rates :/

Yeah, it is very odd. The thing is with me, I'm now back to stock settings - 0db tweak, but getting 5 CRCPM vs 0.09 a few months ago. If I had to guess I'd say the season / temperature / weather had something to do with it. As you mentioned, this appears to be affecting everyone!

I wonder how much crosstalk contributes and the recent increase in VDSL profile and popularity (media coverage, Telecom trials, etc)?

It would have to be a pretty big increase in uptake to warrant a 50x increase in errors! Anecdotally, I had a telecom sales rep knock on my door (who was astounded at the speeds I was getting LOL), who said that I was the only one that he had found in the area with VDSL.

I've done a bit of research and there are quite a few references to temperature and moisture being factors in the performance of copper lines. In cold temperatures copper shrinks, so connections aren't as good etc. Moisture is obvious.
