Post your stats, nobody is going to laugh at you, it's hardly your fault if you're further from cabinet\exchange than others. We may also be able to help you determine if there's line or wiring issues that is holding back your connection. And as hio77 says there are people who can help your decide if\how to proceed with SNR tweaking too, but seeing your line stats will help with suggestions for that too.

Your adsl sync and attenuation figures were never indicative of being 100 metres from a cabinet. You have most likely been off exchange entire time. Post your street name. Most likely it isn't even a Whisper cabinet you just think it is.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Click the Details link to see the error information. System logs are not much help on line errors.

You can get VDSL from non-Whisper cabinets as they did upgrade existing cabinets as well. The one outside my place is not a Whisper cabinet yet I'm getting 70 Mbps on a 17a profile.

AppleJackXD:

I think there is something wrong. Your attenuation is very high for VDSL - high enough that I'm surprised they allowed it. But even with that attenuation you should have better upload speed than that. What's your wiring like?

I have master splitter telecom installed it the line comes from outside into the phone jack ,

Im really not gonna bother fixing the bad wire if i have one because i don't wanna go outside and fix it because the neighbors are skinheads and they harrass us all the time.... Im looking on tradme for houses that are really close to the vdsl2 cabinet.

The bad wiring is most likely in the house, did Chorus run new cat5 to an outlet??

The Chorus guy came today after not showing last week.  Advised that my ETP is too close to the ground and needs raising, and that I need CAT5E cabling running through the roof space and that I should call in a sparky to do that (we have a complex roof and I preferably would want the router on the second story).

Two questions - is there anyone on Geekzone that can help with cabling and do a good job, or can anyone recommend someone I can call?

Secondly, my router is reporting the following:

Uptime: 0 days, 1:22:32

DSL Type: ITU-T G.993.2

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 10,351 / 42,108

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [B/B]: 0 / 0

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 429496723.6 / 13.5

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 20.4 / 9.2

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 17.8 / 12.3

System Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / ----

Chipset Vendor ID (Local/Remote): BDCM / IKNS

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Link (Remote): -

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 19 / 0

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0

CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 168

HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 47

However, when I go on to speedtest.net, I only get the following results:

Any idea why this is occuring?  The router is reporting much higher numbers than I'm achieving at the computer.

You're on Telecom I presume?

It takes a couple of days or so to be switched onto the VDSL profile I've heard, maybe ring up and double check they are doing this.

Yes I am.  That could be the problem as my install is "on hold" until the wiring is properly fixed up - even though in theory it is working.

Are you connecting the modem via WiFi or ethernet?
