For all those who have tried out and are still currently on FYX, hows there peek time speeds etc at the moment ?

They must have some reasonable pipe allocation internationally to have supported their original world plans.

Cheers

I was streaming some HD baseball yesterday from around 3pm to 5pm without any buffering. Would have to do more speed tests but previously could pull 5mbps from the states without issue whenever I tested.

And yes, there is plenty of capacity available Laughing

Well it had been fine for speed but today web is barely browsable.
Getting normal speedtests to Maxnet & Australia sites but 0.2Mbps to Internode San Jose.
Wife is pleading me to switch back to Snap but hopefully this is not a regular occurrence..

Just wanted to add a "me too" to this. fyx is as slow as treacle today. I can't even load speednet.net. I'm feeling a bit worried about the move to fyx right now.

Once Speedtest finally loaded:

I was wrong

and against San Jose:

... and now DNS seems to be hosed.

What are you playing at fyx? (This post brought to you by 8.8.8.8)

wonder if this is related to unblock-us.com in any way.

I use that (not with fyx) and have been having real trouble loading most websites tonight. Mostdo load eventually, but take a few tries first.

swapped the unblock-us DNS back to 'automatic' and the net works fine again.

Had some 'issues' with emergency maintenance tonight, working with a hardware vendor to get answers... *sigh*

umm, and my post said I am NOT with fyx but was having the same problem with unblock-us.com.

I read here that Fyx might have been working with unblock-us for their global mode so wondered if it had anything to do with that.

Random advice: Check your bill with your phone provider. I received my first bill from TelstraClear since switching the broadband to Fyx, and I found that they've added Wiring Maintenance to it. I suggest that everyone makes sure that their phone providers haven't done something similar.

Interested to hear about average speeds for Fyx. Maybe use Geekzone speedtest? http://speedtest.geekzone.co.nz/

Last night it was appalling. speedtest.net was giving around 1.5 down. I didn't know about http://speedtest.geekzone.co.nz/ but will try it tonight.

Yeah also had problems last night. I think on average the speed is OK, but when it is bad it is worse than previous ISP. 4.99Mbps down on the Geekzone speed test at the moment
