TJWillis:
I havent had a resync for months forced by DLM and have asked Snap why but they don't want to know and feed me the same bullsh-t everytime I ring. So maybe this will get the ball rolling with resyncs.

Why would you want resyncs on DLM1???  You're on DLM1 and I'd say you're very much borderline for 17a, so you've probably got as good a connection as you're going to get. DLM probably can't do anything to make your line better.

Looks like a nice SNR tweak though and with that error rate it looks like you still have some headroom to play with.

EDIT: Ah I see your question about sync rate varying with DLM resyncs now. While yes it MAY vary, that variation is random and depends on the line conditions at the time of resync.  If you're on already on DLM1, I DON'T think it will initiate DLM resyncs to try and increase your sync.   It will only resync to drop you down a level (which you don't want) or put you onto 17a (And I'd say your attenuation is too high for this)

Yeah, DLM1 was the second resync in the initial training cycle I think.
When I first connected to VDSL my Sync was 44mbps on DLM6 I think it was and after a bunch of changes to wiring/restarts it dropped to 37mbps. I could never get the sync speed to increase after that.
What is the general consensus for CRC error rates maxing at before DLM drops profile?

Ah that sounds a little odd.

For CRCPM I aim for under 5 (currently running at 4) but it's been fine for weeks on 9 CRCPM. It's been suggested it might be 10 and annecdotely this matches what I've seen (Mine dropped to DLM2 after it crept above 10 for a while) But of course we don't know 100%.

An interesting thing I have found is that doing an occasional power off for 5 mins  then power on the FritzBox helps keep the CRCPM rate low. I found after 300 hours on DLM-1 my CRCPM was getting up to 0.8 both send and recv but post restart they are now 0.08 Send and 0.03 Recv after 30 hours. I had no change to line sync rate, DLM pre and post restart.

Still waiting and hoping for 17a with my 7db attenuation and a very good line now....

This is just getting plain weird.

I've just been bumped from DLR4 to DLM6, I wonder which version of the errors DLM is seeing.....

Down to DLM-2 after 5 months of DLM-1

What has your CRC error rate been like recently?

How are you not on a 17a profile!?

My error rate was 0.3 per minute.

Weird. that's nothing! Then again, you got a large surge of errors in the last 24hrs, probably taking you over the 10 CRCPM level which we believe is the threshold for DLM-1.

I'd say you'll be back on DLM-1 in a few weeks, however, since your line is pretty good and your attenuation is only 2, you should be on a 17a profile by all previous estimates of 17a thresholds.

It might be a good opportunity to get DLM reset on your line and see if you can get onto 17a.

My average error rate for those 6 hours during the error surge was still only 0.8 per minute, mean time between errors would have still been low.

Nice one Hio77 I am also 80m from a cabinet but I hope you have better luck getting 17a than I do.

i suspect ill be due for a firmware downgrade to get the correct performance, get coffeebarron to do his sweep, and hopefully be able to have a spot of fun with it ;)

your error rates seem so erratic for your distance and line.. its odd..

rather jumpy graphs there, looks to be cross talk on the adsl spectrum for the most part.. but im by far not an expert in spectrum graphs..

Heya team,

I've recently cut over to VDSL and just wondering how you get those super high sync speeds?  I'm using a Fritzbox 7390 and am currently on a 17a profile.  DSL stats:

Spectrum:

I've done some tweaking on the SNR as per the first page of this post and increased the sync from 44 to what you see here.

Anything in particular I should be looking at?

Cheers,
Stuart
