does anyone know how to see the dslam highest speed cap on broadcom modem? 
(to determine 70/30 cabinet vs 100/50)

Got quite the surprise today... Waltham, Christchurch. 77/13 on a 8b profile....

Have also seen a few in the Bromley area standing up at around 60-ish.

My instant response to that is WTF.

77 over 8b on a 12dB snr? on 998...

Looks like a rather odd profile is at play there with the 6/1ms latencys too.

Do have to double check there, Is that on Chorus gear?

We just go through a wholesaler so I don't have access to Chorus tools myself but will get them to do some research in to it and report back. To be honest I didn't actually try a speedtest to confirm it wasn't just the router reporting false info. Here is the front stats that shows profile...

Yes most certainly a Chorus connection.

That link seems to be 403ing.

But so that is over chorus gear, That is really interesting to see.

I would pick its a likely broadcom linecard, based off a few assumptions but Would really love to see the spectrum if you have the tool handy to display that!

i think if you telnet in to the netcomm you should be able to get the DSLAM/MSAN type out of the settings

xdslctl info --vendor

ok that's interesting, one of my dsl connections says "chipset vendor id: ikns:0x0001" and the other says "chipset vendor id: bdcm:0xa3f5". maybe that explains the difference between the two connections. the broadcom seems to be the better of the two, but the ikns one has slightly lower ping when no interleaving on either.

it sounded like you can get more than 70 megabit on broadcom even with 8b - so i think broadcom is what you want to be on in general :)
