AKLWestie:

@cbrpilot , is Bigpipe 100/100 going to be upgraded?  If so, what the new speed will be?

Thanks.

Hi AKLWestie I'll PM you.

CB_24:

Just run a test to check my speed, I'm meant to be on 100/200 but the results are saying otherwise.

Not sure how or why the upload is so fast compared to down.

Hi CB_24 if you'd like me to look into your line can you please PM me your details?

Thanks to @cbrpilot for the info and advice, managed to unlock my full speed. Required some tweaks on my Unifi USG, mainly around Threat Management.

On the Bigpipe starter plan 100/20 and just checked on one pc and and we're getting about 325/100 now. Time to replace that 100Mb/s switch so that every wired ethernet port in the house gets the higher speed.

My Skinny connection was upgraded last night. Thanks Chorus!

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Aeeee, finally was our turn, on NowNZ, it switched over last night.

Our internet plan ticks over on the 1st, so this might be how Now is doing the transition, since the plan now reflects the new speeds too.

I had to reboot the router for some reason, but it's looking good now!

I don't know how you guys are getting more than 300 lmao. My routers built in speed test says I'm getting 285 upload and the speedtest site is saying about 305 sometimes

I know right! I'm maxing out at 264/87. I'm fairly sure it's not my router or link to my computer as I can transfer files locally at around gigabit both ways.

I also have a Ubiquiti Dream Machine (UDM), which should be able to do 300/100 easy. Maybe some ISPs allocate a bit less? 🤷‍♂️

Got two sites on Spark Business 100/100 & one on Vocus that were upgraded last night (or yesterday some time). I'm only seeing that using the UniFi speedtest though, which is garbage, so I don't know if those plans have gone to 300/300 or 500/500.

A Vodafone one wasn't upgraded. Also the Vocus upload doesn't seem to have changed yet, but I really don't trust the UniFi speedtest for anything over 100mbps.

Also a BigPipe 100/100 plan wasn't upgraded in the same area, so it would seem that plan is basically pointless now.

Meanwhile the Vodafone one...

"Our WiFi 100 plan"  - wonder what they tell their customers who can't get 300Mb/s over their WiFi  ??

TFF upgrade confirmed (on their FB page):

Our 100/20 fibre plan just got 3x faster! Contact your internet service provider today to find out more about the Tuatahi First Fibre 3x upgrade. That’s 300 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload! Because lockdown has taught us that 100 Mbps just isn’t enough.

Go faster, connect better.
