I think he'll need to use the file edit method. Moving intended SNR to the left actually increases Target SNRM (left is labelled "maximum stability") hence I think far left actually gives you a target of 16db. Dropping it via the file edit method actually moves it to the "right" on the Line settings tab, so when you drop below the 12db default it actually shows no radio buttons selected:

any reason why you have your RFI dragged back one? has it made an improvement for you dragging that back one?

the RFI slider is one that its effect doesnt seem to be overly tested, so curious..

Yeah, there's a few posts about it somewhere early in the thread, but it did seem to make a difference on my line. I might have to try it again some time...though I did test it a fair bit at the time and decided that 1 notch of RFI did make quite a big difference, I'm still not completely 100% sure.

Yeah, unfortunately a few pages later we decided that the effect was inconsistent. In hindsight the whole effect was likely to have been due to the 5 minute router power off trick.

So I decided it was time to start tweaking this error free line then this is what I got.

From what I can tell its pushing hard on the the non adsl2+ spectrums. Wanting to try lowing it down to 3 SNR but that'll be for another day.

Meh after an age on DLM1 I dropped back to DLM2 yesterday morning. CRCPM had been sitting at over 5, maybe it didn't like that over an extended period.

Hi all,
I havn't posted here in a while. I'm somewhat concerned for my vdsl connection. I've had my vdsl connection with telecom for some time now and over the last two months for some reason my connection is only using DLM2 rather than the DLM1 connection is has used since i started out with my vdsl line. Can anyone point out what may have gone wrong, or how this can be corrected. Here are my most recent information from my router. Thanks

By my guess the rather high CRC errors that I can see there. That will bump you down to DLM2

Unless I'm reading it wrong, that's looking like a pretty clean line...

Ild call your isp, have them get your dlm reset..

Maybe even if you can twist their arm enough, a report started from the point of the reset so you can see the rates clearly.

I assume your install is up to spec?

I was under the assumption that since this is distributed over 10 days it would be fine?

Yes, A correct installation was performed at the time. I might see if a dlm reset is possible. Thanks

Note: The only reason I question is because I myself like to game a bit. Usually my in-game latency averages 35ms but since DLM2 my average latency goes up to nearly 60ms which impacts the times things take to occur. Its probably not that much but when latency is a key factor in performance it bugs me.

I too am assuming devison over uptime.

I'll give it a second look when I get into town and am on a computer though.

Are they high? I thought "20 / 23" was the total for the entire duration of the connection, i.e. 1 day, 15:55:28. And error seconds is only 14 - it'd be much higher if those error number where per-minute or per-hour.

I can't see anything wrong with the connection but the Telecom modem doesn't really give much detail.

Telecom routers really seem to be what ild call simple residential devices. To find anything of value you need to fight them something crazy ....

Chorus push them as a godly router too... Nomatter where I look though .... They deem to cause far more problems than they are worth.

I have always assumed their counters to be over uptime.
