hio77: another interesting read i just stumbled across..

the most interesting bit of all, the date. 27-Aug-2013... reading through it, chorus have willingly disabled DLM, and enforced a 17a profile..

at 14db attenuation too!

"EUBAV-VDSL2-4" wonder if snap will push for that profile upon request for any of us..

I'm not sure that they would turn off DLM TBH, and as evidenced, even a manual push to that profile resulted in the line eventually being pushed back down to 8b, which sounds like DLM at work to me!

yeah, after further reading, this was about the time insane tried to use his access, to get his line changed..

still interesting they physically set a profile for a little while there, well after the time inwhich we had said they wouldnt do it..

Got moved to the "EUBAV-VDSL2-4" profile and line speed went from 23/10 to 41/10!
Line Attenuation also went from 14 to 18 and SNR down from 12 to 9

17a at your distance, i would have expected some moaning..

might wanna try for EUBAV-VDSL2-1 (assuming the -X signifies the DLM profile..)

Xternal: Here is the old DLM PDF

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67367903/DLM.PDF

what a read this is, still reading through.. but one thing thats not mentioned here, which i suspect my line may be in..

theres 12db and 9db SNR profiles, that explains perfectly what i have been seeing since my last resync..

wonder if we can get our hands on the updated PDF..

The line is measured as stable when there are no spontaneous resynchronisations in a 48
hours period. If the line is measured as stable and the following conditions are also met:
> an upgrade profile is available; and
> the noise margin and attainable bit rate are expected to be sufficient after the upgrade,
then DLM will initiate a switch of profile to the next higher profile in the hierarchy.

interesting conditions here..

Just got VDSL installed - i am in an apartment building but less than 300m from the central exchange in Auckland.

How do these stats look? my connection has been up for 42 hours

A little better...  Im using a Fritz! 7306 on 0.55 firmware - is this the best?

A bit disappointed the chorus tech didn't disconnect the other jack points - he just told me 24Mbit is the best ill get..
