@hio77

Had a resync last night becuase of getting Central exchange errors. Impulse noise protection has gone to 1 and now getting zero errors. With zero errors latency should switch to fast in a few days ?

Other info

so it seems a lot of ikns cards are doing wonderful download speeds, but upload hasn't gone up much.  and so 17a is now about upload speed more than anything else.

it also looks like a lot of the freshly moved connections have strange interleaving.  i wonder if that'll drop over time.

Very nice jump from 43/10 to 68/12 Mbps overnight, in Rangiora (near Christchurch). 11dB line attenuation; 7dB SNR, which is down from 12dB some months ago. Vigor 130 modem so no fancy graphs for me.

it'll be 9db vs 12db target, and syncing at quiet time pushing it down to 7db, it's likely to be stable with 7db though.  is vigor broadcom?  dslstats can do graphs on quite a few modems..

Not sure of the chipset, but 'adsl showbins' isn't implemented on the 130 so no way to get the data AFAIK. It also doesn't report Ikonos vs Broadcom at the other end, but I'm just below the downstream rate where it would make any difference anyway.

Very useful.

DSLAM/MSAN type: IKNS:0x0001 / v0x0001
Modem/router firmware: AnnexA version - A2pv6F039i.d24e
DSL mode: VDSL2 Profile 17a
Status: Showtime
Uptime: 59 min 39 sec
Resyncs: 0 (since 30 Oct 2015 13:09:40)

Downstream Upstream
Line attenuation (dB): 0.0 0.0
Signal attenuation (dB): Not monitored
Connection speed (kbps): 64200 10351
SNR margin (dB): 9.5 26.0
Power (dBm): 14.4 -0.1
Interleave depth: 1 1
INP: 0 0
G.INP: Not enabled

RSCorr/RS (%): N/A 0.0000
RSUnCorr/RS (%): N/A 0.0000
ES/hour: 0 0

Pretty Happy. I believe based on what I have read that I would potentially end up with about 70/20? is that sound right?

i'd guess to be more like 70/12 - oh hangon, you're on 17a not 8b.  yeh, probably 20+.  i'm guessing attainable is sitting around 35 megabit atm based on 26db snr margin..

Yes it does actually, I've been keeping an eye on mine after quite a sudden slide in sync speeds lately ~15% loss in Downstream, and ~50% loss in Upstream in one sudden overnight (about 2 weeks ago) resync that seems to be quite sticky.

Example:

Kind of waiting for Power Management mode to show 998 before ringing up Spark and asking if they can see anything on their end, but last line shows Broadcom linecard in the cabinet.  (Strangely, I'm sure this used read Ikonos, but don't think I have any copies of "adsl status" from a while back to refer back to and check).

Still stuck on under 4 meg up on one of my connections here. Stupid router needed a reboot so I lost my good sync from last powercut a few months back.

yeah it always got me how adsl would give like 4 megabit increases in sync rate after power cuts - and vdsl is still giving pretty significant boosts.  i don't think it's just from having quick booting modems - i think in the process of syncing it must have less load?
