I'm wondering if I could get any more bored by this.
If you are on a conklin DSLAM then 2Mbps is the fastest your line can deliver... Exactly as promised by Telecom. Your line has been unleashed. Just be grateful that you aren't one of those who can no longer receive broadband.

Just be grateful that you aren't one of those who can no longer receive broadband. The Conklin case is different because without them those customers wouldn't get BB but rather than relying on the iSP let the customer know that they are on a mini DSLAM with its limitations why not rate limit the Conklin to remove any doubt or false expection?
cyril7: Dont the Conklins accpet upto 4 aggregate E1's, if so it is feasible that your could acheive pretty close to 7.6Mb/s with all sails up and towing down wind.

juha:Who are the customers who can no longer get broadband?
Its here:
http://www.xtraplans.co.nz > Click FAQ > How has my broadband speed changed. The bottoms line says: "For a very small number of customers, the increased interference may mean they can no longer get broadband at all"
Bung: I have seen someone from Xnet posting that they have arranged for some customers to be rate limited again to stop frequent disconnections. In some cases it is possible to be put back on the leash.

I don’t know? can you get more boreded?
A number of people here have taken my posting as a stab at Telecom and a moan about speeds.
If you take the time to re-read my post you'll see that I'm simply commenting on an observation I have made and offered a reasonable suggestion that would be fair on people that are unfortunately on conklins or some distance from the exchange/dslam and want more than 128kbps upstream.. to get that, one has to pay for a FS/FS plan.
