GeoffisPure: I believe Adam used to run ISP Dreamnet, which was later acquired by Orcon.

Interesting list. I see Orcon bought iPhone in 2001..... If only they knew.

I thought they were launching an unmetered vdsl plan but cant find it anymore. Shame since that would have made me jump the downloading connection over from slingshot which is being a sloth at the moment with torrents.

Are they reselling Hosting Direct (the hosting provider) or HD.net (the ISP)?

The Hosting Direct business (the hosting provider) was sold to OpenHost a few months ago so not sure how the above reply applies.

NonprayingMantis:

although makes me slightly suspcicious that they can unmeter TVNZ ondemand when no other ISP in NZ seems able to do so after they shifted to Akamai - Orcon and Snap used to do it, but not since then and I'm sure they would if they could. So how is 'the party' getting round it?

On our network, we just found out the ip addresses they were serving the tvnz content from and routed it differently so the /24 that contains the tvnz ondemand content just bypases our meter. Pretty simple, though have had to update it twice in the last 12 months but its not a big issue to change.

If I remember rightly, they're using OLM.
