Zeon: In case you want to consider DSL some providers will allow you to share dataplans over multiple connections. E.g. with Unleash we pay for a data plan and then pay just a naked connection only cost for each location that connects.

That could be the best option thanks - i will look in to it

I've used one of these as a "3G Router" - http://www.dlink.co.nz/dir-412 (around $80 retail I think), with a 3G USB stick plugged into it. No noticeable overheating, where as my phone would get quite warm sometimes.

@potsiea I can provide and install same kit as used for RBI, and you can then plug in a pre-pay Vodafone SIM for when you need it. Really depends on how much $$ you want to spend setting this up? Guess it's like any holiday home, how much did you spend buying the place, kitting out the kitchen, BBQ for the yard, a broadband solution...
