That's what I thought. When UFB first become available in Tauranga, I contacted SNAP and was told they are not ready. ETA could be few months away. EOL apparently able to provide UFB straight-away because their gear is 'ready' for it. It was a no brainer for me to go with EOL. It is quite pricey but overall speed and performance is excellent.

Unlike ADSL/VDSL, ISPs have to have backhaul from the regional location back to their nearest hub (mostly Auckland). So in places like here in Tauranga, few ISPs are ready with UFB right now as they are still organising this.
EOL & Netsmart are the two local providers doing UFB right now in Tauranga - easy as their POP is here and linking into UFB wasn't a big financial barrier.
OP: Feel free to PM your address and I can look it up for VDSL, Full Flavour is a local Tauranga company that does ADSL/VDSL and is working on getting hooked up to UFB.
