bradstewart: Wow thats progress. The power of the 'media'...

Now how can I force TCL to lay cable in Dunedin? Hmm

If they could get their marketing act together and increase the number of subscribers in areas where they have cable now to a point where it's really profitable, I am sure they might consider other areas also. They have a pretty hefty tax loss credit with the IRD they could use :-)

But if I were a Telco trying to outdo Telecom, I wouldn't lay cable to homes - I would run fibre or at least FTTN. That would get over the distance limitations of DSL.

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

Of course you would - with the increase in copper prices in the last few years it's now cheaper to run fibre than copper cables.
