3 meters from 1800mhz site and no signal is bs.....i am sure you guys didnt had it properly connected.....either way hamilton is a different story.....vodafone is much much better.....better signal and better speeds all the way for vodafone.....
In most areas, I've noticed better performance and coverage on my Apache (which not an EVDO device mind you) than what I was getting on my Vodem (which was '3.6mbps' but didn't help that the local sites only went upto 1.8mbps and rarely ever got that fast anyway), guess which one I sold.
And yes, the phone was connected corrected in case you want to troll me over that point again.

It was in the CBD. Treo 700v - working fine bar that general area. CBD coverage is somewhat critical, so poor coverage is not an excuse.

kwaan: [you obviously have no idea of what you are talking about!
this is telecom's website of what speeds they offer....FYI the Rev A speed is only availaible in auckland and in some areas only.....
as for Vodafone....if you are in a 3G area you will get 3.5mbps and if you are not then you will have to use their GPRS connection and will only manage 64kbps which is what telecom offers (slightly higher @ 80kbps) other wise Telecom's 3G speeds are 1100kbps.....
