plambrechtsen: Sad to say after talking with the OP.. It seems they are out of luck as the service order was run yesterday at 5pm, and there is no way to back it out as the service has been completely disconnected :(
So they are a port waiter without the possbility for their local Conklin getting updated by Chorus... and will see what happens in the future.

Thanks for trying, really appreciate it.
Apparently we are either 4th or 5th on the list which doesn't sound so bad until you realise the area is one where people rarely shift. We are listed at Chorus as being connected in 2020. 7 years away....what a joke. And we are not in the RBI coverage map either. So too close to a city to be classed as rural and too far away to warrant any work being done to upgrade. And with new houses being built in the area the problem will get worse before it gets better. I just think it's unacceptable in today's day and age.
If people smarter than us know how to queue jump we could be even further away!

Perhaps the developers in the area should get in touch with Chorus about doing an upgrade... I can put you (or a developer) in touch with a Chorus investment manager about the options. I know Chorus are now putting in Micro-ISAMs to support 128 or 256 subs and those boxes are a lot cheaper than the full ISAMs and below 100k to commission. The main issue from what I understand is Resource Consent and the trenching of the fibre in from a local handover point (plus the main focus is on UFB/Fibre rather than copper!). You know how to get hold of me :)
wongtop: As a last resort if the wireless options don't come through you could look at 2degrees $99 12GB 6month zone data if you have coverage. Zone map is here http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/mobile-data/zones

RunningMan: Dial up is looking quite inviting about now;-)

Good for the other port waiters though (of which you will be one now)...
