Moved to NDSL as soon as it became available. Was the beginning of 2007 if I remember correctly. Haven't looked back, am now on naked VDSL.

Naked for just over 6 years. Started off with WXC and their VOIP solution. Been on VF + 2Talk for about 16 months now. Thinking about ditching 2Talk though as it's rarely used so is a bit of a waste of money.

If clothed BB is setup correct then the home line should make zero impact

True, but how often have your heard of people having issues with ADSL filters and having to pay extra for a master filter?

Every house should have a master filter. Period.

Except those who have only one line into the house and have physically cut all other lines.

My naked plan with Snap is only $5 per month cheaper than a plan with telephone service, but as far as I'm concerned that's still $5 a month that I might as well save.

Except for the next person who moves into your house and wants to get pots service back again and they just wire it all back up and get a poor experience. If a master filter is installed then there is no questions or support issues. "Do you have a master filter" "yes I do so that isn't the issue"

For the sake of sub $200... it's a worthwhile investment.

As per PL's comments above, master filters are a good idea. Theres a myth that dropping POTS means you won't benefit from a master splitter - if you still have other wiring hooked up to the same circuit as DSL, it can still impact performance.

On Naked VDSL with VOIP. I'd personally drop the voip line, but its not there for me.

Are Telecom and Vodafone's naked offerings still 'fake' naked DSL? ie, they keep POTS service active but just make it unusable?

I wouldn't say it is a myth as such, just not 100% accurate.

Having naked means there is much less need for a filter - no active phones, no connected alarm, no connected sky box etc.
You will still (probably) benefit from one, but the benefit is not likely to be as big.

And TBH, as a single (cat5e) wired house from demark, with only 1 phone line, there really is NO case for a master filter for me at all, is there?

Telecom's Naked does still keep the connection to the NEAX as then you can still ring 111 Ringing 111 can be useful sometimes but no inbound or outbound calls.

Have been naked for about 7 years now, probably saved $2000 over that time.

Isn't that the next guy's problem? I'm hardly likely to invest $200 so someone else can have a nice internet experience!

Some of my best jumps in performance have been master filter installs on Naked DSL connections.

I was naked with WorldXchange  with their VOIP service for several years then changed to Naked with Snap keeping VOIP with WorldXchange would recommend it and I believed I saved a bit but trying to put a $$$ amount on it is really on the perspective of your worth of a home phone line whether it's VOIP or not if your not really making any calls then there's no value and no savings.

I have around 700 minutes on a carryover cellphone plan that are just growing every month as I'm only using 20 - 30 a month if that.  I still have been looking at getting the phone put back on at home in one way or another just as need to get our house back on the internet as it's more of a inconvenience not having a minimal internet connection and nearly all providers offer a supposed free phone of one sort or another.
