NodeB1 - 2506 Mhz
NodeB2 - 2518 Mhz
NodeB3 - 2530 Mhz

unsure if this is the actual frequencys for NZ but thats what i could find on google, no info on forcing it to use one of there other but i suspect its just a line in one of the .ini files

Woosh don't use the 2.5Ghz band.

They own a 20Mhz block of 2100Mhz spectrum (2055Mhz - 2075Mhz) and operate a TDD TDMA network centered around 2067.5Mhz

To extend on what sbiddle said. There is only one spectrum allocation according to the RSM SMART system between 2480 MHz and 2540 MHz and that is a block allocated at 2530 (2520-2540) to 'Telecom Leasing Ltd' which appears to be part of Telecom NZ. They have an all-NZ license too.

As to whiter the frequency are corect I am not sure BUT the bit about different nodes is correct that's what they set in the shop on my friends modem.

Since posting I have repeated the test using his modem I am getting 80% increase in speed if i use my modem at his house still only the slower speeds it is defiantly down to modem settings. I have spoken to woosh who are sending me a new modem we will see if that's the problem or if it is the node the modem first looks to connect to.

There are only two possible outcomes

1. my modem is an earlier model and needs upgrading
2. The modem needs to be set to connect to the other node

I will post what the outcome is over the next few weeks

Thanks to members here that were able to offer constructive info. as for the rest who just seem to wish to pick holes in users posts well!!! it would be nice if you tried to help not criticize

please read the ENTIRE post, no where did i say they were what woosh uses

maybe i needed to be a little more clear

from my research that is what has been deployed in another country using the same technology and the same modem, the NZ frequency probably differ. but its essentially what the op has been saying and you all have been dismissing.

im just trying to offer more info to this discussion

Ok so Woosh have a management right (number 100) from 2053 MHz to 2083 MHz. There are various channels licences across Southland and you can search SMART (the NZ register of radio frequencies) and order by location - reverse grid reference will get you from Invercargill northwards in one button click.

I suggest that you talk to Woosh as they will be provisioning the channels that each modem uses, so bandwidth will be allocated fairly across their subscribers ie you and your mate.

I've yet to see anyone from Woosh appear round here but you never know, maybe the BDFL knows of someone round here who wears a Woosh hat?

ok just to clarify things

There are nodes and the woosh modem can be programmed to look first at a different node to standard for their rural towers

This was not the problem I had it was the modem I have replacement now and BW has improved by nearly 100%
