60GB! Yikes, that would mean another hard drive every 3 months. I'm lucky to reach 5GB and that's lots of Youtube + rips and streaming NZ radio stations.

Some words comes to mind, Warez, Mp3z, and other contraband stuff by any chance?

I am also on Xtra Go Large, This is my result this afternoon @ 2:13pm:

if your downloading 60GB a month, I am not surprised that you are getting that speed.

PS: Don’t forget it’s the school holidays so thing will be slower then normal

My speed changed today:

Thats the most i have had it go up to for awhile. Had this dude come over to my house and he did some test on my lines and he said one of them where broken and left, But its the same thing a dude said to me in my new house. I dont want to be changing my plan to somthing else if its my line. I might get some pricing done on how much it will cost to see if it is my line and fix it.

My latency with XNet is 50ms, always.  Sometimes there is one packet around 80ms, but that is likely because of QOS settings to prioritise my VoBB (or VoIP as most people know it).

Also remember it is Uni holidays.  Maybe faster today due to power outages from the storms resulting in less people online.

I did think about the storm and the holidays but i have had that speed for about 6 mouths now i just thought it was somthing to do with my computer or just to many people on xtra but now i read about other people they are getting great speed. So i dont think it was the storm or the holidays. I know it will effect some of the internet speed but i didint think it will be this much

Go large speeds don't bother me anymore. Sometimes its really good, sometimes its terrible. The main thing is that I don't have to worry about going over the cap.

Snap.

Thats how I feel too...

I like the no cap thing, and I know the tradeoff is variable (read: usually bad) speeds.

Evinta: Try online gaming.

What, 60GB a month in online gaming?  Even 24/7, I highly doubt you'd be able to hit that amount.  Most regular onliners I know have trouble hitting 10GB a month, and that includes browsing, downloads, etc.

It is easy to reach 100GB if you downloading whole season of soap opera from broadcaster.

It usually cost $15 for a whole month of subscription, however I hardly get download for a single soap opera where I can download 8 series on air due to slow internet.

Still I have to left my computer on in whole month to supply these contents to my wife.

I sometimes doubt whether cost of electricity more than pay extra money for so called "full" speed internet.

It's kind of death spiral where internet slows, so more time spend on on-line, more use on-line, internet gets slower.

Please don't judge that huge download always involving with piracy.

We are all same people get behind, it may be our destiny because of live in small relatively isolate country. (Let's get out and enjoy sunshine)

I was on Go Large till recently, and got crap speeds. I wasn't using more than 10GB a month so changed to Adventure, and since the speeds have increased a lot.

i am an ex-go large subscriber. as you said i hardly used 1gig of stuff when i 1st joined, and my speeds never exceeded 700 kbps during the time i'm on the internet. that sucked bad!!! i bet no one in the developed world outside nz has ever heard of the word "cap", whether speed or data. and they don't measure in kbps anymore, instead, mpbs. we suck sobs
