I have to agree... Crosstalk is something I also got hit with.... then I just did from SNR tweaking on my fritzbox....

having trouble trying to find the graph i have in mind, but this is somewhat related...

crosstalks progressively going to get worse, and then its all going to become so much more varied, not a lot to do about it though unfortunately..

if only chorus vectored eh? - wishful thinking!

I cant check my stats via the web interface.... HG659 has a bug and dosent show them. (well, shows as 0)

When did everyone notice their connection rates had dropped ? I only noticed mine a few days ago when i had to reboot the router......

When did everyone notice their connection rates had dropped ? I only noticed mine a few days ago when i had to reboot the router......

oh, mines nothing new, after the storm about 1~2 months ago now i had huge error issues and DLM stepped in and sat me a month out.

ironically when the more recent storm came through, it didnt do a thing to it! - the fence took the hit this time!

i havent quite got my full tweak back on iver... been doing some server hosting recently, so didnt want to strain anything..

Vectoring in NZ isn't possible due to ULL... Well it's possible - but only on cabinets and exchanges where no ULL kit is fitted so that'll pretty much eliminates every exchange and cabinet in all our big cities.

... so it doesn't matter that your VDSL has slowed down a bit - VDSL is only a stop-gap technology to buy time until UFB arrives.

You are lucky to have the UFB option - I won't be able to get UFB until 2019.

Too true.

It doesn't matter as you say and to be honest, 25/10 with low pings (just 4 to Wellington, 16 to Auckland and 40 to Sydney) is all I need to for some great BF4 gaming on my PS4.

Due to DLM pings can be better on ADSL2+ as you can disable interleaving.

ild have to go back and find it, but theres a quote on here, from BMarquis stating that chorus will never look to vector, and stating that due to the fact that not only chorus gear could pump out signals, 100% vectoring is never going to be possible (and thats before considering CPE support.) and so chorus wouldnt look to do it

(paraphrased from memory before anyone quotes me on exact comments.)

I personally, have talked about vectoring awhile back, and would love to see it. but then ild also like to see vdsl profiles to be less limiting too ;)

Hey there, new to the GZ forums but wanted to share.

Joined up on Telecom VDSL middle of last year (whenever it was that it came out). Always had decent ADSL, around 15Mbps. VDSL has been great, started around 50 down and 10 up. Past few months has been around 40 down 10 up, figured it was new connections.

Then last Wednesday I got home from work and started to watch and HD clip on youtube only to have it stall and buffer constantly. Thinking this was strange I did a speed test and my downstream was 6Mbps. Upstream was still 10. This was around 5:30pm.

10 days on and this is a continued struggle. I'm not sure at what time the speed slows down though I checked today at 3pm and it was 30, at 4:30pm it was 0.6. That's right, zero point six. Still 10 upstream. Downstream fluctuates for a few hours but is never higher than about 5 or 6. Then at around 10:30 pm it goes up a little until by 10:45 it's back up to 38-40. I've checked again between 6 and 7am and it's 40+.

Have been in touch with Telecom daily and get the usual speil, restart modem, check DNS, other devices etc etc. They've been in contact with Chorus who claim there's nothing wrong at the exchange, they've had their network guys on it who claim there's nothing wrong. I can't get any sort of answer as to what the hell I can do next. The internet is unusable at certain times of the evening.

So unhappy with this.

One can assume you're simply using speedtest.net to measure speed - what is far more important is your VDSL2 sync rate. What is this while you're seeing your issues?

I assume you're also running your tests via Ethernet, and not WiFi? As WiFi is now virtually unusable in many RF dense environments speed will vary significantly.

Yes testing on ethernet. No one has asked about my synch rates, how do I check those?
