k1w1k1d: So the moral of the story is to make very sure that you consider all possible location options fully before deciding where to fit the ONT. Shifting it at a later date sounds like it could be expensive.
What would be the recommended procedure when redecorating?
Do you carefully pull it away from the wall, leaving everything attached, or do you contact your provider for assistance?
YJ: It's a click, I thought its designed to plug/unplug easily. Anyway, called my ISP and will keep you guys updated. You are all awesome. I am proud of being a member in here. Good night.

It is under a screwed on protector cap. Not exactly 'easily unplugged'. You would of needed to remove the ONT from the backmount and then remove the cap and then plug the fibre.
Good to hear it is getting sorted. I bet the CSR freaked out when you explained the situation! Must be one of the first.

For my understanding, there is no screw on protector cap, you can slide open the cap/cover, then unplug the yellow cable, similar as the ethernet cable with the latch, you can hear the click. like other people said, I have been told I am not the first one done it, someone from Chorus scheduled to come to my place today, the only thing i have to do is probably is that waiting for the bill and pray it is not too much. .

That means that installers are being lazy and not putting the locking screw in. There is 100% a locking screw for the fibre cap.

You could probably do the same thing with your power board, but would you really try and move that by pulling all the wires around, or would you call the power company to do it?
Unfortunately with telecommunications, even though it's more complex, it has less "stingy" in it, so people are more prone to having a fiddle with it and making a big problem instead of calling someone and having no problems.
Anything I say is the ramblings of an ill informed, opinionated so-and-so, and not representative of any of my past, present or future employers, and is also probably best disregarded.
