plambrechtsen: As I always say... $200 from Chorus or $150 from the baron is incredibly good value for a master filter install as the hours alone justify the cost to get it done properly.

Just stop being cheap (would you do electrical or plumbing yourself?) And pay the investment to get it done properly.

I have no issues with the baron. Some Chorus contractors can be a bit dodgy. But if they are they need to come back and fix it if they bugger it up.

defiantly go with coffeebarron if you can!

getting chorus techs back out to fix what they bugger up can sometimes be a mission and a half...

Dont disconnect the blue wires at the jackpoint, just move them to the "phone" side of the splitter at the ETP. Connect the orange wires to the "ADSL" side of the splitter, and put that orange pair to a new jackpoint next to your existing one. The "line" side of the splitter connects to the telecom wires that are currently joined to the blue wires at the ETP.

Time to find a new industry!
