Absolutely. I've had DSL, then got Fibre, moved again and my RFS is June, with a shared driveway to add to the installation time. Currently get ~22Mbps via. VDSL. I miss my 100/50.

Another reason to get fibre - Backups to the "cloud" or anything else that requires a fast upload suddenly becomes far faster / better.

Also I can do heavy downloading / uploading at the same time as the flatmates play online games. So if more than 1 person is using the connection. Everything still works.

linw: What the others said. Besides, there won't be copper in a few years time. Also nice to know your signal won't change with wet weather or dodgy jointing somewhere!

Fibre just feels more comfortable.

I think there will still be a need for copper - there are large parts of the country where fibre simply won't be available.

Getting fiber 100/20 soon, with Orcon it's actually going to cost us $3 less per a month to upgrade to Fiber from VDSL.

That's true. I was a bit sweeping with my comment!

Fibre scales better then VDSL.
As an old Nike ad would say.
