Should be able to get an old Vodafone HG556a from trademe for about $5. Probably about the best value you're going to find.

The Dynalink RTA1320E is also a good option. Very basic (no wireless, etc) but very stable with good connection speeds.

Wireless would be a requirement, it's for phones and laptops mostly. I don't actually know if the Dynalink does that - I suspect not.

Huawei HG556a is probably your best bet then, for under $10.

I have a Vodafone Station (can be used with other providers if you) you're welcome to you just need to pay for shipping or pick it up (Auckland).

Edit: This is ADSL 2 and Wireless and probably a bit more reliabel than a hg556a

Wouldn't recommend the Vodafone station if you are not with Vodafone. As you can't view the line stats in any of the menus. You have to ask Vodafone for them. So trying to diagnose speed / line related problems would be a nightmare.
