It doesn't appear that our install will be complete today. I haven't heard back from Chorus this afternoon. 
Some pics anyway.
About 70 spare metres of fibre blown from the cabinet at the end of the street to the front of our house:
The hybrid (fibre + Cat5e) cable about to be run under the house and up to the hall network cabinet.

I thought the Chorus ONT power supply was a huge ugly thing. This is what they gave us:

So that's it for now. Once everything is working and the evil ADSL router is gone, I plan to tidy up the rat's nest of wires in here.

And I'm still waiting...
My friendly Chorus tech on Monday couldn't get through to the records team in Auckland because they were all away for the anniversary weekend. The calls were supposed to be transferred to Wellington, but something went wrong and none went through.
He tried to phone me back on Monday at home, but our cordless phone battery is dying so it wouldn't answer.
He took the day off on Tuesday and no one else was assigned to complete our install.
On Tuesday afternoon, our ADSL stopped working. We eventually phoned Voda and found out that an order to cancel the copper service had been put through, even though the fibre isn't working yet. So no internet at home since then. (I'm using the local library's internet PC.)
I phoned the local office of Downer this morning and the receptionist said that she would get Matt the tech to phone me back. He did so and explained the above to me. He said that our install job has been taken off of his work schedule now and he'd have to phone some manager to try to sort it all out.
Damn, I really hope that I'll get some joy with this by the end of today. No internet at home is like the end of the world!
