Yes, installed it myself and used Cat5. Also test connected my modem directly to the incoming pair as a reference and modem stats are pretty much identical with the master filter installed, which is what I expected.

Only have a single pair yellow/black feed coming in which I believe is pre-internet old fashioned cable if I'm correct.

There have been previous threads here which said that Slingshot support Annex M ADSL on their wholesale gear. Which AFAIK goes to about 2mbit upload. Can you get Skinny wireless broadband? Even 3g has a faster upload than ADSL. And if you can get 4g signal where you are, you will have far higher upload.

Yes, tried Annex M whilst with Orcon and that took the upstream speed to about 1.4Mbps which isn't great plus you lose 1-1.5Mbps down. Yes I can get Skinny 4G and have it for testing, it's pretty good for speed but can be a bit laggy at times and there's a few strange issues too like google domains can take a few seconds for DNS resolution and I've had some downloads which start off at >40Mbps and trickle down to <10Kbps after a few seconds. Also with our families data consumption at $52/100GB I have estimated between $150-$200 per month which is a bit excessive. If someone can come out with an unlimited wireless plan for $125-$150/mth then my quest would be over.

That is a typical experience for a wireless connection, fixed wireless solutions would be more consistent.

Same goes for annex m, typical. Annex m is not magic. Cuts are made to do what it does. Crosstalk will affect it given wholesale does not do annex m. It won't be exceptional but will be an improvement.

Isn't Skinny Wireless broadband a fixed solution?

Yes and no. While its bound to one place, I personally would not count it as fixed.

When I say a fixed connection I am indicating one that has been professionally installed with an external (preferably dual) antenna as that's where it will preform at its maximum.

Yes, if I ever went with my Skinny Wireless then I would get them attached to a couple of LPDA's and low loss cable.
