If your modem displays the vendor code you'll be able to tell whether it's a Conklin or ASAM. Conklins are remote cabinets while ASAMs can be housed in a cabinet or back at a main exchange building.

Also from what I've seen Conklin upstream rate usually maxes out at 832 kbps while ASAM will be 896 kbps. In both cases they will obviously only sync ADSL1 profile.

From what I can see there are 4 active cabinets in TSM

3 are ADSL 2+ / VDSL ISAMS

1 is Baseband and does not do broadband at all.

Can't seem to find any decent line stats in the new modem , but this confirms 100% what we're thinking.

ADSL2_plus confirms you are on an ISAM as above.

This is because Conklins and ASAMs don't do ADSL2+ in NZ.

It says ADSL 2+ at the top. So it is on an ISAM you are just a long way away

All the Conklins are on the way out anyway, aren't they?

If you are looking for something faster, have you seen if there are any Wireless ISPs in the area? RBI even?

other indicator that your on a ISAM, ddDLM is running

This would give you the best speed boost of all if you leave it to optimize down to 6dB (assuming clean line)
