RunningMan:
A relative of mine in a Chorus area had this done about six months ago. Cross lease property, neighbours ordered connection via ISP, Chorus contacted, scoped and installed up to the external FTP.
This happened to me with my Lower Hutt flat. It is the middle one of three on cross lease. My neighbour to the right wanted fibre, and as the copper is all overhead, it was a simple install to do the fibre the same way, so Chorus did all three flats at once. I am living elsewhere to look after my mother, so I am not going to be connecting my flat to fibre any time soon, but the extra work for the installers to do the three flats instead of only one was likely just an extra hour's work so it made a lot of sense for Chorus to do it all at once. They never asked me specifically where my ETP should go, but they actually put it in just about the ideal place - but in fact anywhere on the front of my flat would have worked.
