One of the MANY things i'm going to have to just get used to...
But as has been said... I will have to spend less time in front of the PC, and more time outside with the family ! (but i'm an IT nerd, and my skin will go all red... argh...)
I was over for a month back in May (securing a job etc), and must say, TV, was erm, well... i'll have to pay for Sky for a starters... and even that, well, leaves a few things to be desired.
Please don't get me wrong, i'm very much looking forward to moving over, and certainly not putting things down...., things are just different, and will take a little getting used to !

Has anyone had MY Sky HDi yet ?, i purchased a new 1080p TV before the boat left, and would like something other than my PS3 to connect to it... I read SKY HD was being released in July ?
slyguy: After doing a bit of investigation... it looks like an option for me might be to have 2 x dsl lines ?
1 for Overnight, unlimited (or not AS limited) downloads during off peak hours 1 for your average daytime / evening browsing etc..
Couple of questions..
Is this do able,.. I.e. will Telecom have an issue with me having 2 lines in to the same building etc ?
And or any other suggestions ?

If you have two phone lines they will have no problem in letting you have two dsl connections.
I have two phone lines (fax and phone) I pay for broadband at home and work pays for it on the fax line. which I do what you said, Personal connection is Xnet fs/fs Work Connection is Golarge (used for leeching)
no issues with having two lines, as long as you pay for it of course :P
I have a question - you said you downloaded 400-600 GB per month - films, apps, games etc.
that seems an awfull lt to me - how could you possibly have time to actually watch all the movies or play all the games you download?
Unless of course you are just downloading them to onsell (hypothetically of course ), in which case you would have plenty of money to pay for a super duper fiber connection :P
We're talking High definition films, which can be anything up to 20 - 30gb each.. and then games for the pc at 5 - 10 gb a piece..
I also work in IT, doing lots of downloads of applications, operating systems etc. (mostly legit stuff too ! :) )
I'm going to obviously have to calm myself down a bit... and i'm sure with every thing new going on in my life over there (new job, new house, new country, family close by etc etc ) that i'll have less time / inclination to want to do these things anyway ! :)
