cyril7:

Maybe post some close up photos of the patch panel and a couple of the rear of the wall sockets so we can clearly see the state of the terminations.

They look OK at that end.

Can you unscrew the wall plate at the other ends?

richms: Take the wall socket off and have a look at the workmanship.

You need to pop the clear retainer off and check that all cables are in the slot fully. The browns and blues are where the problem probably lies.

Looks like a nick in the blue wires insulation where they stripped the jacket so not the best job but I have seen much worse that has worked fine. Probably just not pushed fully home on one of those 2 pairs and needs a shove with a punchdown tool.

Thank you Richms, I don't really want to muck with it and break something so I have called a local guy here that does this sort of thing for him to check out later on this week or next. I'm in no rush considering I've come from a 10/1 connection!!

Brown/White pair also looks pretty wrecked.

retermination is certainly required.

hio77 and richms win the prize, I've now tested all other 8 sockets around the house and they all connect at 1Gb speeds... Just seems that the one port my computer is connected to is stuffed 🙄

Thanks team, will get it looked at.

Well, thats a bummer. There are 2 cables in the house where there is a broken pair. The guy thought it wouldnt be possible to re-pull wires through the house so I'm stuck on 100mb Fibre.

Any chance of re-routing the cable?

My first ever AM radio network connection was with a 1MHz AM crystal(OA91) radio receiver.
