some ISP offer?
That makes no sesne!
Sorry my bad, offering a plan with no 12/24 months contract, the installation fee is ~$200 or something. I probably made the wrong conclusion.
Linux:
Then request a fibre connection thru a another ISP as already advised, We are just going around in circles now!
Yes, none ISP can beat my current price unfortunately, thats my topic about. :D I knew that 2 options, move to other ISP or move with the current ISP and loose my current situation.
Thought may be someone knows a secret/tip how to get it for free without moving :))) I know may be I'm asking too much.

This is because Vodafone own the HFC Cable network and don’t have to pay chorus for a Fibre Tail
Yes I know about it :)
nztim:
Fibre is just better though any other technology is inferior so if I was you I would pay maybe $5-$10 more p/m for fibre

Why would you stay on cable when fibre is available? I'd pay a bit extra and get a better connection - moreso if it means moving provider.
The mere fact they wouldn't let you move says a lot (bad).
cyril7:
If you have fibre available, why oh why would you want to remain on faux fibre, very odd.
Cyril
cost
Sign up to a fibre provider who offers no contract, pay the generally $49 setup fee and 1 months service then cancel.
fiber installed for a small one off charge

do you actually get anywhere near 900M down? helped someone sort out LAN wiring a couple of months ago, who was on a similar hfc plan, but they were really only getting 250M. yes, it depends on location, so you might be better off.

@Cyril So what was the reason for this thread then?
HFC =/= Fibre
Cyril
As I understand it, and I’m going from memory, Fibre rollout will be complete by the end of 2022, after which you’ll need to pay to be connected; ie won’t be covered under the UFB initiative.
