If we convert the us price to nz and add gst on that should be roughly it I think, not cheap compared to fiber but a bargain for where its actually meant for.

US$99/month and $500 for the dish. Expensive but if you're alternative is 2Mbs DSL then worth it!  And if you save a ton of money by selling your house in the city and moving to a rural place, then the cost becomes trivial in comparison to the housing cost savings.
