Right, so testing via ethernet on 2 laptops and the slingshot speedtest on there phone app I get 105Mbps. Sounds like slingshot said to my wife that they are still waiting on chorus to finalise at their end. So hopefully that will improve things. Our plan on the app still says vdsl, so yes will just have to wait for everything to get finished.

but if its a new connection surely it would be provisioned correctly from the start? might be different if you moved into a properly that had fiber and the previous people had 100mbps and you wanted gigabit

I can only speak to my experience (with 2degrees). In that case I went from VDSL to a 1Gbps connection. It was initially provisioned at 100Mbps and I was told this would be the case but would change once they had confirmation of installation (or something similar - afraid I forget the exact semantics). The upload jumped up...but I ended up having to call them about the download as that was stuck at 100Mbps.  I realise in this case its Slingshot. I guess the restrictions could be Chorus systems so may be similar. Hence suggested it.

Thanks, this sounds identical situation

That doesn't sound right. Have you contacted Slingshot support to confirm the account is correctly provisioned?

Yes they told my wife they still needed chorus to sign something off

I've definitely come across this before -- if the Chorus tech doesn't sign the job off it will sit on the lower speed until they do. Maybe it doesn't happen with all RSPs, but I've seen it with a few connections

(I've always found this perplexing as I was under the impression they were paid per job and it would be in their interest - but maybe they do it at the end of their work day)

Yes apparently the installers and slingshot have done their part, just waiting on chorus themselves

It was only installed yesterday. I've only switched once and got slower speed then signed up for at start.

Came right two to three business days later. Think it can take a few days for provisioning to complete.

Wouldn't worry until three or more business days gone by.

I was switching from Spark to 2degrees, going for 200/20 plan, I was getting 100/20 first few days. So there is a second provider not instant.

I was impatient and rung up, got told provisioning needs to complete.

Can't comment on when changing technology, as when switched copper to fibre went for slowest fibre speed.

Highly likely slingshot have a 100mbit default shaper and apply the correct one on rfs confirmed.

That's not GbE.   1000mbps or ~120MB would be GbE.

Its a green light. What should i replace that flat cable with in the future?

Our original install date was meant to be today (but the installers decided to do it the same day as the initial visit), so possibly Chorus have today as the date for it to get signed off??

Thanks for that but the my reply was in response to the GE1 Light, orange = 100mbps green = 1gbps

so 105mbps down has to be a 1gbps lan connection, or else it would max at 93-94mbps.
