Not sure that is the same as Bigpipe. I use a Asus router for that connection. Great deal if they can keep up the service levels after when they sign up more subscribers.

I have just posted a press release about Sky Broadband and Vocus.

I was sent an invite to join on a 6 month trial for free and while it appealed, it stated no home phone (which we use) and we realised we'd lose the ISP email address we have (which we have had for so long that it's the only way people know how to get hold of us)

I don't understand why they need a "trial" when they're simply reselling the product from a well established wholesale provider.
Well Mike - so far so good for both of those things...
Provisioning was painless and went without a hitch.
I got my first combined bill a few days ago. It listed my Sky channels and then a separate item for Internet - the latter at $0...
10/10 so far.

@sbiddle the trial could be to avoid the provisioning and billing nightmares that seem to plague two notable Telcos
Yup, same. I think it's smart. They haven't done Internet before, they will want to test the water, see how the service goes for them, ensure billing is smooth, and what issues they have, before they mass market it. I think better to have processes in place than build them on the fly.
Sky have always been a little like Apple, controlling the environment to minimize the number of potential support issues and reduce the support footprint. I applaud their careful approach.
I expect them to end up picking up a number of customers, and they will want an overwhelming positive experience for them I'd suggest :)

What's the router like? Better than the dross that Slingshot have provided?

Free trail to me seems like a pretty effective way to get customers onto their services, its quite refreshing to see they using vocus as a network provider which is something they should be advertising, even if its something small that geeks will be able to pickup on

Not sure sorry. I was user 0001 with a self supplied router....

Free trail? Where do you finish up at the end? :D
Still waiting with baited breath what is going to be on offer, I want to switch to a Vocus RSP and would love combined billing with sky

I have a feeling someone from Sky used to check these forums, but I don't know if they still do anymore.
