i think the question may already be answered but in that result i seen some customers working from a distance 7.4 - 8km and you also hear the odd person getting Broadband at 8 km only at night time with the phone off the hook , you see some strange stuff
Even in the middle of Tokoroa you could be only 4.5 km from the exchange and get a db loss reading of 110-120 but the main reason is because of .4 Cable . So in saying at you should be able to get broadband at 6.2km if the conditions are good and so is the cable..
So just to reiterate, possible yes, but Telecom has been burned in the past by provisioning people when they should not have, and even though it *may* work if you hold your nose the right way, they will refuse to provide the service because they cannot gaurantee that it will be consistant, stable etc.

i agree, you do see some strange stuff. Ive had a cust connecting at max speed from 7-8km away, this was on a mixture of paper and .4 cable, i don't know how it worked. do you work in the tokoroa area?
