Hi Salty, I think the suggestions to attempt to use either VF or the new XT networks is a good, one, but if they dont work out and you end up looking at Compass I would be interested in the outcome. I suspect Kordia Extend wont quite cover there.

Cheers
Cyril

johnr:

That site in Puhoi is 3G HSDPA 900mhz

Cool. I'll borrow a 900MHz data card from work to take up next time I'm up there. Given it's only about 2km away with direct line of sight the coverage ought to be second to none. And given the population density I'd say I'd have it all to myself 99% of the time. :)

Coverage map for Extend looks a bit patchy. But I think with a mast I should get line of sight to the Compass site on Moir hill. Looks like I have 2 good options then - Vodafone on UMTS 900 and probably Compass.

Same thing I posted on a different thread but...

Do you have line of sight to anyone who's in range of ADSL? If so make friends with them!

Point to point wireless can work fairly well even over a few KM to their place then hook into a 2nd line + ADSL there would be the best performing solution imo.
