I don't get why it is so rare for companies in this sphere to offer deals in reward for loyalty rather than trying to tempt people in then lock them there with penalty clauses. You'd think good-will and word-of-mouth would be great for marketing.

I am not trying to advertise from free, I am just learning about the geekzone community, but it seems very buddy buddy and being run like a dictatorship, if threatening to ban me based on fact that I challenge your position - I find this very unfair.
Just my 2cents.

Most businesses are dictatorships. Mauricio is a generally benign dictator compared to many - maybe most. :-)

Yeah it is an interesting scenario. One way to possibly get the discount is to say you will move to another provider if they don't match it. BUt it is common for existing cusomters not to get the signup discounts new customers get. However in that case they sometimes also give a sweatener to existing customers.

bonkiebonks: I'd be interested if they had a promotion for their larger cap plans, perhaps something even larger than what they already have on their website, say 120 - 150GB.

I'm with Maxnet on their 100GB plan, and a while ago, they rang me up and offered to customize a plan for me if I was planning to go above 100GB. So if you want deals, just ring and ask.

Hmmm...all they're offering me at the moment is a personal webpage address that doesn't work....

I'll retract this with full apology when it turns out it's something I'm doing wrong :P

I dont have personal experience, but all reports from GPForums are that Maxnet has very good service in terms of download speed, latency and support. The only complaints i've seen is when an international provider such as reach or asiannetcom has issues, but that will affect multiple ISP's.

Their downside is their high costs - but i suppose you get what you pay for. This deal alleviates that i suppose though, but only if you can fit into this lower broadband usage. I'd be all over this if they could offer something in the 40-60gb range.

Is it really worth selling your soul for cheap broadband?
Then again, I did sell my sell to Hell for cheap Pizza.

Souls are overrated,i say sell them as many times as you can, over and over again to get the best deals. Pizza is so good, broadband is so good.

You also sold your email address to a countless number of spammers and marketing companies. Don't forget that..

While I think its probably a good service offering internet filtering for kids as an OPTIONAL extra.. its the compulsory filtering with the Dept. of Internal Affairs which put me off spending 1.5k with them p/m...  Also the sales guy never followed up with me.

Na I hadn't seen that. By the looks of things I should be going with Call Plus Smile

ISPs need to realize that while they may get nods from some users for internet censorship - others will be put off by it.

You failed to mention that the person you spoke to said they'd try and authorize an upgrade for you anyway Tongue out.

Looks like you're on a parachute plan now.
