NonprayingMantis: ~700Mbps but limited? what is the limit?

10GB? 20? 60?

If the limit was 20GB or more then I would go with fast but with limit.

Ya lets stay the limit was 100gb for 125$/ 50gb for 75$/25gb for 50$
or u can still have the slow speed which is unlimited for idk 50$

In that case I'd definitely go  for fast with the limit of 25GB. no question.

Why Are Your Sentences So Hard To Read, and why Don't they always Follow The Same Pattern relating To Usage of capital Letters?

That aside, I'd choose both.

If slow is defined as 2-4mpbs and fast as >12mbps. I would go with slow unlimited option for $50-60 :)

but who cares anyway? :(

Well, I would be happy with 2-4 over all services and ports, not the 256-400k that I get at the moment, with the odd dose of 800 or so. (except for speedtests, they are alllll good for me)

I currently have 15Mbs DL and use around 180GB per month on TCL which cost around $230-$250 per month. I wouldnt want to drop the speed anywhere below 10Mbs but I would love a higher cap or unlimited :-)

Can I mot have it all? 100Mps and unlimited!

Your question is flawed.

Does it occur to you that every plan - even a high speed one - contains a built-in cap? Simply based on the maximum amount of data you could download per month at the given speed?

If you get 5 MB down, and assume optimistically that you get that 100% of the time, then you can download 1.6 TByte over the course of one month if you always consume all available bandwidth. That's quite a bit, but still a physically imposed cap. It doesn't matter if the ISP would say that it's uncapped or unlimited, the cap is very real and there's nothing you can do about it.

But if your speed is 55 kBit then you can at most download 17 Gbyte per month.

So, there's your cap. There simply is no "slow but unlimited" plan anywhere. The limit is provided by speed and time constraints.

The entire premise of this thread doesn't make any sense at all.

Fast with cap for me!

And as for 'no such thing as unlimited because your speed is limited', well 1.6TB is quite a lot of data to download each month. You'd either have to burn it all to 364 DVDs every month which would cost you around $150, or purchase a new 1.5+TB HDD which would cost you around the same amount. So really, I think you could consider 1.6TB to be practically near enough to unlimited as to be virtually indistinguishable from it :D

And if you are not keeping the stuff, like watching streams or downloading shows that you do not keep?

Remember, the whole idea of keeping everything you download is perculier to NZ, since we spend so much downloading it compared to storing it. People overseas I know will delete albums they dont want to hear for a while because they can always just download it again, and upload isnt as screwed as here so their ratio isnt something they worry about.

Sure, to a point, but 1.6TB is ~1200 hours of 720p HD video, or ~40 hours per day...

I would pick the middle option.
